Material

Planet Holds are made from a robust composite resin, creating a product which is both strong and durable. The material is tested to international standards for flexural strength, modulus and deflection whereby a bar of material is suspended between two points and subjected to a point load in the centre. All the holds have a traceable quality control stamp on the base for added peace of mind.

All holds are available in a choice of 10 vibrant colours. These are classified according to the RAL colour system to ensure maximum consistency between and within orders. All these colours are suitable for use both indoors and outside.

Fixing

• The holds incorporate the latest technology dual inserts for maximum flexibility in fixing. This means that both M10 countersunk and cap head bolts can be used to secure the holds to the wall.
• Always ensure that the holds are bolted onto a flat panel or that the moulded wall has a sufficient flat area to accommodate the footprint of the hold as an uneven surface will create pressure points across the hold which could result in breakages when tightening.
• The recommended torque settings for tensioning Planet Holds are:
  • Small holds – 20-25Nm
  • Medium holds – 25-35Nm
  • Large holds –35 - 40Nm
• Over-tightening may result in breakages.
• Some Planet Holds come with second fixing points. These should be secured to a suitable surface using a standard 5mm wood screw.
• Holds should only be used for the intended purpose.

Cleaning

To maintain the holds in their optimum condition they should be pressure washed using cold water. It is not recommended that any detergents be used as over time this may have an adverse impact on the colour vibrancy of the hold.

Disposal

Do not under any circumstances continue to use a hold that has cracked. If there is any doubt about the integrity of the hold, dispose of the hold immediately.
